Introduction
Welcome to my blog. My name is Annissa Deshpande and I am a talent strategist, data geek, poet, and fitness freak. However, I have only figured out how to earn a living from the first two. :)
After spending twenty years working in corporate and consulting roles across IT, Finance, HR, Strategy, and Talent Acquisition, I became intrigued by emerging talent trends requiring fresh approaches. I realized I wanted to have a more meaningful impact and ultimately, shape the talent conversation. So I launched lōglab, a company dedicated to helping organizations build workforces that advance purpose and create value.
I am committed to discovering new and innovative ways to think about talent. Let’s face it – poaching talent from competitors can’t be the only strategy to build human capital. The future of work is changing. We are entering a new phase where the long-term success and sustainability of an organization is going to depend on human capital. We’re also seeing a rise in the number of contingency workers and a shift towards a “gig economy” where more and more workers want to freelance and are demanding flexibility.
With these trends, we have to fundamentally re-think our approach to talent and that is what I want to explore through this blog. Nothing will be off-limits – we need new perspectives in order to develop ideas. For example, in my first post I will be exploring a new role for HR in the modern world and how it can help advance and protect a company’s purpose.
I hope that whether you are a C-level leader, operations leader, HR professional, mid-level manager, or a college graduate just starting out, you will find value in our conversations and share your feedback, comments and ideas.
